Here's an issue a lot of us are probably aware of by now... a lot of the newest entries for the LEGO Group's parts database are being abbreviated differently than they have been in the past, and this leads to misleading duplicate colors in the Brickset parts database.
However, glancing at some older entries in the LEGO Group's parts database suggests this is an across-the-board change, not just a change that applies to newly-added parts. So theoretically, the Brickset parts database could be "refreshed", overwriting anything with an "old" color name to sort everything according to the new abbreviations in the LEGO Group's database.
The only issue that would definitely arise is clarity. But that could be addressed separately, possibly with some kind of conversion table that would change abbreviated names into their spelled-out forms (we could even include ID numbers in the process if we really wanted to, which could be quite useful). Right now, it's extremely frustrating that "Br.Yel" and "Bright Yellow" parts are listed separately when they are in fact the same color.
