When I learned of the new movie Star Wars the Empire Strikes out I said to myself, finally they're doing something with classic Star Wars! I was even thinking of buying it. I sure am glad I didn't. (I saw it for free on Cartoon Network on demand) Some would probably argue that it was meant for kids, but I've always believed that making something for kids meant that it had to be dumbed down so adults couldn't enjoy it too. They never even explained why Darth Maul was able to return. And the best minifigure they could come up with as the freebee was Darth Vader with a medal? It didn't make sense to me before I saw the movie and the scene in the movie didn't make sense either. I actually enjoyed the other Lego Star Wars movie more, The Padawan Menace. Why does this bother me? Because it seems all of the creative energy is always focused on The Clone Wars. Will the original trilogy ever get the respect it deserves again?
