FS UK - Various new/sealed sets with damaged boxes.

After an extremely busy Christmas I am left with a number of Lego sets with damaged boxes which can't be sold as new.

They are all sealed and new but have varying levels of box damage. Some just have creases and dents but some also have rips and tears in the boxes. They are not suitable to give as gifts or add to your collection but are great if you want to open and build them.

I have listed them all on my website to make purchasing easier. Discount code BRICKSET10 will give you a 10% discount on the already reduced prices.

Postage is is free if spending over £35.

You up can see the available sets via the following link:

This past week, the local LUG, Cactus Brick, put on a display at the Phoenix Comicon.  The display contained a new pirate section, a large town with an enhanced railway system, and a large Star Wars collection. Here is a video highlighting the various builds.

The Brickset Builders Guild - share your MOCs here!

Although Brickset is primarily a website concerning collecting, there are plenty of talented builders on the Brickset forum, who often post MOCs on the 'what are you building right now' thread. Therefore, after consulting with Huw, he and the other moderators have kindly allowed me to set up a new thread solely for presenting your MOCs.

So without further ado, I would like to introduce 'The Brickset Builders Guild.'

There are no limitations on what you can post, including models of any theme or size, in real bricks or in LDD. As long as it is all your own creation, just about anything goes!

As well as simply demonstrating your building skills, a weekly contest will also be held. There are a few details I should give about how I envisage these contests running, although there is every chance that this will change with time as we discover what works and what does not. Anyway, this is how (at least) the first contest will work:

The contest each week will run from one Wednesday to the next, starting and ending at 00:00 GMT.
Naturally, if you miss the deadline for one week, your MOC will be entered for the next week.
All of the MOCs posted each week will be eligible for judging.
In each week, the models will be judged by two judges.
Each of these judges will be nominated by the judges of the previous week.
The judging will not be based on size or theme, only skills and building techniques demonstrated will be taken into account.

There is no prize for this weekly contest beyond the acknowledgement and glory of being Brickset's builder of the week! However, there may be larger contests held which will have prizes every so often.

The judges for this week will be posted later.

I look forward to seeing plenty of outstanding MOCs!

Rarely do they have Lego on sale nor do their coupons work, but when they do, it should be posted here.

Members were sent an extra 20% coupon which can be used on the following selected "FATHER'S DAY" sets.
The Architecture set is already 20% off. With the extra coupon, it comes down to around $95.

Greetings and salutations! It's my turn to host the party this week!

Per the standard rules, the first fifty nine (59) unique posts get a number for Saturday's UK Lottery Draw.  I'll trust someone on that side of the pond to post the correct winning number on Saturday. If the bonus ball number corresponding to your post is drawn, you win the prize!

The winner will receive a surprise polybag or prize of similar or equal value from my assortment of items collected for a future build that hasn't materialized, trade bait, or contest prize. The winner will need to PM their shipping address to me I can get their prize posted.

With Memorial Day marking the unofficial start of summer in my part of the USA, this week's question is, "What is your favorite summer tradition?"

For me, it's the end-of-summer family camp which my family has attended for nearly 30 years.

City Jungle Theme! I'm Excited!

Is anyone else?

The scope for fauna is the most appealing aspect, I am also hoping for new takes on flora too.

Did anyone notice any jungle natives? I don't remember seeing any. Is it odd that they have been left out? I guess that the protagonists within the theme are focused on  discovering something else so the need for them is redundant.

Could this theme outlast other themes that have previously filled this space in the City line? I wonxer how TLG could improve on this, safari?

Lots of questions, even more speculation.

My thoughts of a jungle / drum & bass theme were short lived.

Hey guys
I know some people are unable to get these where they live so I picked up a couple of spares today in case any one wants to buy and I will post to you (you know, spread the love). They are quite thick so I imagine wont be able to go as a letter but as a small parcel. Not looking to make a profit, just cover my costs.
Let me know if you are interested

Bricklink create mass coupon?

I'm thinking about giving all returning buyers a set percentage off at my BL store. However, I'm not quite sure how to implement that. I was thinking about making a single coupon code, that goes out with the "thank you, drive through" message for shipping an order. Would that work? Or is there a better way?

For all the Lego racing fans out there I have created just the thing for you! Welcome to Octane Speedway, a thrilling track with tight turns and straightaways to keep you going for hours! This is my Go-Kart track that is on Lego Ideas. It currently has 112 supporters, but I would like to see that number rise. I know that I would have enjoyed something like this as a kid and I know that others would too. So if this is something that you would like to see on shelves, then please head on over to Lego ideas and drop some support on! And if your really like then please consider sharing it with others! Thank you for your time and have a wonderful day!

has anyone else experienced their sets on display that have never been taken apart before CRACKING for no apparent reason? I've heard of a ton of explanations so before you tell me another one of them let me say something first.
i have all my lego sets displayed in a room away from sunlight with no air fresheners or any other chemical in the air. i take care to wash my hand every time i use the bricks and the room is never below 40 degrees. in the summer it only gets about up to seventy.  i have heard that A.B.S plastic gets brittle under extreme cold and heat. OR if the temperature in the room changes drastically all the time. that is not the case in my room and 40 degrees does not sound like extreme cold.
i take so many probably unnecessary precautions to keep my parts from cracking as this has happened to over 200 of my brand new parts. i now display mini figures with their legs off and turn their hands around over and over for a while JUST to prevent this! if lego is supposed to be such great quality and I'm so careful WHAT am i doing wrong?

Lego Lighthouses

I just wanted to take a minute and share with everyone my Lego Lighthouse build. It is called the Brick Reef Lighthouse and it is currently at 253 supporters on Lego ideas. I would like to see it climb a little higher, to around 1000 within a few months. Because self advertising is not allowed on Lego Ideas, I was hoping that some people on here would be willing to support and share my project around a little bit. I do not have any social media accounts so my sharing skills are somewhat lacking. I would greatly appreciate it if you would check it out and if you like it, support and share it. Thank you and have a wonderful day!

Does anyone have Batman Battle Pod #5004929?

Hey, so I'm sure I'm not alone in wanting—nay, needing— to get the Battle Pod polybag, but I wondered if anyone out there in the forums has ventured to spend the crazy amounts on eBay to get one of them? Was it worth it? Was yours legit?

Does anyone have any  info on whether these will be offered anywhere else other than Asia? I remember seeing that the Kiss Kiss Tuxedo keychain was only available in Asia until more information was released when the movie came out, so I'm hoping the same is true for the Battle Pod.

Fingers crossed!

June Monthly Building Competition Summertime Fun

Since summer starts here in the US this month I thought that it would be a good idea to make this month's competition summertime themed. Build your favorite summertime scene or activity that you enjoy doing in the summer. It could be a simple park scene or even a school's out theme. Rules: no larger than a 32x32 baseplate. Only to 2/3 pictures per entry so the thread doesn't take forever to load. Winner will receive a small set as a prize!  Good luck and happy building!

Charity raffle for disadvantaged children to go on holiday

$

I am a primary school teacher and every year we organise a residential trip to take 60 of the children to an activity centre for 4 nights. The school that I work in serves a deprived area and for most of the children this 4 night trip is the only holiday that they have ever been on.

As a school, we believe that a brilliant residential should be seen as a fundamental part of a well-rounded education. We know that its support in helping schools create life changing experiences that have a measurable impact back in school influences the futures of these young people every year.

We are absolutely committed to helping you get the most out of the learning outside the classroom experience.

We know that successful outdoor residential experiences provide challenge, build confidence, promote independence, forge life-long friendships and also increase student engagement and attainment back at school. It also provides an opportunity for these children to get out of the city, see that there is more to the world than the estate where they all live. (I'm always shocked how surprised they are to see what the countryside looks like!)

Due to the high level of deprivation that these families face, we fund as much of the trip as possible. In previous years, school budgets have allowed for us to subsidise places and we have also had access to a number of grants to further reduce the costs. However, funding cuts are making this more and more difficult. It is looking like trips like this will be less and less viable as the school budget becomes more stretched and fewer other avenues exist for us to approach for funding.

I am aiming to raise £500 to cover the transport costs for this trip.

So, the raffle:

In a similar fashion to a charity raffle that has been organised on Brickiest before, I am offering a prize of #9468 Vampyre Castle. If anyone would like to offer any additional prizes please let me know.

Tickets can be purchased through this Just Giving page. https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/tom-thorpe

Tickets are priced at £1 each and will be available from now until midnight BST on Friday 14th July 2017.

How it will work:-

Ticket numbers will be allocated and pm'd to all who pledge money to the page.  It would really help if people send me a PM when they have made a pledge so that I can keep track of the order of number allocations.

If you have any questions relating to this raffle, get in touch and I will happily answer them.

Thanks to everyone for any support that you can give.
