The LEGO Batman Movie

$

I have not seen a tread for this topic, so I am going to make one now for the future. As most of us know, the LEGO Batman Movie will come out next year ( February 10th to be exact ) and we have already seen two teaser trailers and one trailer. We have also seen some set pictures for next year, so feel free to talk about anything related to this topic.

And on a side note, a new trailer will come out tomorrow! :D

News from CM4Sci who has seen pictures, guess we all will soon

Microfighters -

Ghost looks different from the SDCC one, Hera included

Tie Advenced Prototype has a TIE Pilot? Dunno the specific name.

Wookie Gunship has a Wookie. tongue

AT-DP has an AT-DP pilot.

2 black boxes for TFA sets.

Sets -

Rebels Battle Pack - Looks like one of those Speeders the Scout Troopers usually use, but beefed up a bit. Stud shooters on each side. Minifigures are tan, no printing, one has a Greedo head. Others have A Wing pilot helmets and one of those 2009 Hoth helmets in sand green. Two have jetpacks. Plenty of stud shooters.

Empire Battle Pack - 4 Stormtroopers, all look the same. One has a jetpack. Plenty of stud shooters. Main build is a small station. Spring shooter cannon, aside is a seat with stud shooters, and behind it is what appears to be a station with small monitors.

2 blank box battlepacks for TFA.

Obi Wan's Jedi Interceptor - looks just like Anakin's. Has a red droid. Obi-Wan. Green spring shooters.

Droid Escape looks the same, R2-D2 has a plain silver dome so I'm assuming new print? Maybe? 2 Jawas, no capes, 2 guns (not stud shooters) Actual pod isn't a cone shape this time, it's like a big cylinder.

Hoth Attack looks kinda plain and boring. Some plates, with some small snow bits, random tan/dark tan plates. Tall white tower with a shooter thing. Probe droid included - minifigs are Hoth Han, Snowtrooper with a really neat looking stud shooter cannon, and a Hoth soldier.

Bespin Freezing Chamber - Interesting design. It's rather small. Think... 4 fractions of an octagon. 1st fraction has a computer and an Ugnaught. 2nd fraction has 2 stair pieces put together with the neon orange lights. 3rd has on the bottom what I think is a pin you can pull out, it is attached to the middle bit which is Han in Carbonite on a small stand. Last fraction has Boba (printing everywhere, cape) and what looks like a very small elevator or something? Platform on 4 tall bricks.

Those are all of the sets I've been given images of. No blank boxes for the potential TFA sets on the normal set pages, maybe the photographer skipped a page or two, I dunno. Enjoy! grin

How do you display minifigs?

I suppose the first question should really be "Do you display minifigs?", and if so "How?". I'm talking about minifig only display here, i.e. not with sets. I will post some (inevitably poor) pictures of how I do it later on tonight when I'm back at home, but in the meantime, maybe you can get a head start and discuss how you do it (pictures would be great please!)

Where are the Elves reviews?

Five new Elves sets came out in March.  So far there's only a review for the $10 Gondola set.    In the mean time, all but one Brickheadz has been reviewed (Black Widow.  Go figure...), the USC Snowspeeder and even unreleased minifigures have all been covered.

Looking further back, I've noticed largest Elves set reviewed was Queen's Dragon Rescue (which you really have to dig for, it's not linked to the set's page).  None of the castles have been covered.

Where's the love?

Bricklink scam?

I just bought a high value item on Bricklink. It is ~$150, from a seller with 3 buyer feedback, from last month and earlier this year. They have this item and one Ultra Agents minifigure for sale from their store. They say that shipping on this set will be $5, which is the main reason I am suspicious.

I know new sellers sometimes price things a bit below market value- this set isn't a spectacular deal, but now with all this, I feel a bit on edge. What are the chances that this is a scam?

A friend forwarded this to me since she knows I like Lego.

This was spotted at an outlet so it's not even the full price!

Lego Quality

I recieved a VW Beetle #10252 today. And the Mrs is now building it. She has notice that two of the 1x4 tiles are scratched, one of the 1x2 slopes is scratched and another piece has a nick in it.

The instruction booklet was also bent up in the box.

Is the quality of Lego parts on the decline?

Or is this just bad luck?

Set Brick Storage Methods?

So I was curious as to how people store their set bricks. Do you keep them together as a set? Or do you mix them in with your general brick storage? Or maybe buy one set to keep as a set and another to use as a general use bricks for MOCs?

I've just started getting into some basic Lego stuff and I'm torn between keeping the set bricks separated and therefore not really usable or mixing them all together but then maybe not being able to easily pick out the set again when needed (Or missing parts do to being in other builds)

Just wondering if there was a method that made more sense one way or another that I can't see at this stage.

Just seen this on Facebook- I guess it's an original story one as the MCU one was LEGO Marvel Avengers.

Time to start speculating on a bonus minifigure? ;-)

Selling off my collection (Southwest Ohio, USA)

For various reasons, I have decided to exit the hobby and sell off my entire collection.

http://brickset.com/sets/ownedby-ToddMyers

If anyone is in the Southwest Ohio / Northern Kentucky / Southeast Indiana region and would be interested in any of my sets, please let me know.  Currently, all sets are built and I have saved all original instructions and packaging for 99% of my collection. Pricing is available on request.

Until I get a bit more time and can better get a handle on breaking down sets, I am focusing on local sales and am generally avoiding eBay and BrickLink. I'm in no rush to sell, and note that this is not a fire sale, so resellers likely won't find much that will appeal to them.  I am not opposed to selling and shipping beyond the local region, but depending on the size of the set, it may take me a little bit of time to break the set down and get it shipped out.

I'm after Bespin Luke's legs from 10123 Cloud City... Unlikely I know, but if I don't ask I'll never know. Checked Bricklink and can only find close to but not the actual ones.
Willing to pay a decent price and cover shipping from anywhere :-)

Lego On TV programs.

Channel 5 in the UK. Tonight.
NCIS New Orleans: the First Episode has a New Orleans agent, Scott Bakula talking about his brother, another agent, building Lego Models of Landmarks and then donating them to the local Hospital. A microscale model of the Superdome is shown.
Later a few small plates are emptied out of a computer keyboard. Supposedly they were stopping it from working but they are actually too large to have fitted into the space between keys. :)
I thought it was quite good and hope that they continue to mention lego in future episodes.

So if you spot anymore programs with lego why not post them here.
